28 Sep

What is this about?

Heather Scott from ALDI (Advancing Learning in Differentiation and Inclusion) is co-hosting an online webinar with Inclusive Schools Network, Joanna Mckay and RECIT AGE on October 26, 2023 around inclusive practices and assistive technology.

Morning Session: Inclusive Practices with Sabrina Jafralie (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

Through the lens of Universal Design for Learning, this session will examine systemic inequality and how to address it through actions. In addition, this session will stimulate reflection and practical applications of an inclusive framework within your classroom or work environment.

This session is co-hosted by ALDI and ISN (Inclusive Schools Network) and will be hosted in English. The deadline to register is Monday, Oct. 23rd, 4 PM. This session is designed for youth, Adult General Education, or Vocational Training teachers and consultants.

Afternoon Session: Accessible Technologies with Avi Spector (1:00 PM – 3:30 PM)

I’ll be co-hosting this session with Heather Scott (ALDI) and Melissa D’Ambrosio (SWLSB) aiming to support teachers—both new and experienced—in understanding and implementing three popular assistive tech tools, including Read & Write (Google), Immersive Reader (Microsoft), and WordQ (Quillsoft). Participants will engage in station-based activities to learn about these three popular assistive tech tools and the importance of accessible teaching practices. My goal is to equip educators with practical strategies and tools to enhance classroom accessibility for ALL students.

This session will be held in English. The deadline to register is Monday, Oct. 23rd, at 4 PM. This session is intended for new teachers but welcomes teachers from all sectors, be it youth, Adult General Education, or Vocational Training teachers and consultants.
